Welcome to Ms. Galvin's Class Room 12
May 6, 2013
Here's what we are up to this week...
Religion-We will review all we have learned this year by looking at our Promise Magazine and book. We are also reading about Bible Story Heroes.
Reading-All of the word wall words are now up and we will review a few each week. I will not be adding anymore this year. Our reader this week is called Spin the Top. Please practice reading this with your child at home. It will go home Monday. We will also read our next big book Old MacDonald. We will also work more on Phonemic Awareness. We will do short activities each day on rhyming, onset fluency, blending, identifying final/ medial sounds, segmenting, substituting, adding phonemes, deleting phonemes, and language awareness. We will have a Spelling Test on Friday for our number words one, two, three, four, and five. A practice sheet will go home Monday where they write the word three times.
Math-This week we will identify and describe three-dimensional figures and compare them to two-dimensional figures.
Science/Social Studies-We will be getting ready for Mother's Day this week...so it's a surprise! :)
